June is bound to be a serious continuation of the massive reconfigurations unfolding in our worlds at this time. We are sitting right on the edge of history – witnessing substantial social, political, and environmental shifts developing right in front of us. Our personal lives are also shifting. We are reaching higher levels of awareness regarding our personal sovereignty, grounding us and propelling us forward into the discovery of higher purposes. As we dive into the second half of an already intense year, the planets undertake a particularly introspective turn this month – ensuring we make the right adjustments within to be fully prepared to step into the next chapter of our lives.
The month begins with a lovely alignment between the Sun and retrograde Venus on June 3rd (an event also known as the “rebirth of Venus”). When Venus is retrograde it turns its energy inward, pushing us to reconsider and review our relationships, ideas, and how we communicate these with those around us. Gemini season might not be the most useful in this sense as its energy pulls us in a thousand different directions at the same time; but it certainly is appropriate to introduce the fusion of these conflicting ideas into a new third option with enhanced possibilities. The Sun-Venus conjunction clears any blockages that have been preventing us from getting in touch with our Hearts. Our creativity will be amplified – presenting a unique chance to find clarity on where we are heading and how we will get there.
June is a special month this year as it contains not one, but two solar eclipses – both taking place within a span of two weeks. The first happening on the 5th – a Full Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. Eclipses in astrology mark the opening of important cosmic shortcuts. We can sense the beginning of something new starting in our lives and eclipses often act as ruthless catalysts for change. These changes might not be the most pleasant at first sight, but they will be necessary shifts that will clear the path for our personal progress. As if not enough planets were in retrograde motion already, Mercury goes into his second retrograde of the year in sensitive Cancer on the 17th. Mercury retrograde does not have the most pristine reputation out there – although it is actually a wonderful opportunity to get in touch with our upgraded internal communication systems. When the enfant terrible of the solar system turns into backward motion this month, we are called to nurture our thoughts. Are we being kind to our mind? He teaches us how to communicate and process our ideas in ways that allow for greater emotional security and control.
The second eclipse and New Moon take place right on the summer solstice on June 21st – also marking the debut of Cancer season. Falling on the same day as the start of summer is no coincidence. The eclipse will carry an overwhelming sense of rebirth in the air. The New Moon in Cancer encourages us to revise the stories coming about January of this year. What’s the next chapter of the commitments we made during that time? This is an opportune time to plant the seeds that will ignite the entrance into a new dimension. With a harsh aspect to Saturn, we might feel conflicted between our freedom of self-expression and certain restrictions being faced. Flexibility and open-mindness are key during these days.
The 24th brings a sense of relief as Venus stations to go direct, officially putting an end to its retrograde. We start examining the different considerations we have been making during the past weeks, and we can finally move forward with clarity regarding our different partnerships.
